Our Guest love to eat and are particularly fond of all the meat dishes we serve on board. As an Assistant Butcher for Carnival you will be responsible for the day to day issuing of meat, poultry and fish items and for handling the products as our united States public Health guidelines. As part of the small but FUN Storeroom Team workings behind the scenes to ensure our guest have everything they need to have a fun memorable vacation of a lifetime.

 Job Functions:

  • To be aware of company specifications in regard to portion, cut, and quality and advise Chef and Food and Operations Manager of any discrepancy of same.
  • To assist in loading of all meat, fish and poultry items, and ensure that all items are stored correctly and as per USPH requirements.
  • To report to Chef any discrepancy in goods received.
  • To closely follow thawing cycle as specified by the Chef.
  • To remove packaging and cut meat as directed by the Chef.
  • To ensure that all Lexan’s are clean and stored correctly.
  • Liaise with the Store room manager and the Chef on a daily basis in regard to shortages, slow moving items, etc.
  • To ensure the correct storage, labeling and handling of returns from all areas.
  • To ensure that returns are issued first.
  • Liaise with the Store room manager and the Chef on a daily basis in regard to shortages, slow moving items, etc.

  • To ensure that all items are properly labeled, weighed, and stored prior to inventory.
  • To assist the Store room Manager and Cost Accountants with inventory in regard to the fish, meat and poultry areas.
  • Ensure that the preparation rooms are properly secure at all times and that product is not issued without an authorized signature.
  • To ensure that all walk-in refrigerators and freezers are maintained at the recommended temperatures.
  • To ensure that all areas of responsibility are clean and sanitized after use.
  • To ensure that all utensils, cutting boards and Lexan’s are properly cleaned and sanitized before use.
  • To ensure that company specified uniform is worn at all times, including all company directed safety gear.
  • Ensure company specified freezer jackets are worn on all occasions when entering a freezer.
  • To perform other necessary duties as directed by the management.


Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 1 years experience
  • Fluency in conversational English,
  • Must be familiar with different cuts of meat and ability carve carcasses and handle whole fish.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of 60 lbs and be physically strong.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience Level

You should have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.

Conversational English

Fluency in spoken English to connect with guests is required.

Guest Facing Experience

Minimum guest interaction might be required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination and be able to lift up to 50lbs unassisted.
