Position Overview:


Our Bars are BUSY and our Team works HARD! Carnival Beverage Operation Manager oversees all the bars on board. Ensuring the quality of drinks is maintained budget targets are achieved and the team is happy and engaged so they can bring FUN to our guests through their excellent service.  Working in a fast-paced no day is the same environment - this is a high-energy and FUN job! 


As with all of our team members and managers, you’ll be a highly visible member of the team, and will constantly interact with our guests and help them with questions. The vacation experience we promise our guests will start with you!


Position Functions:

  • Observe guest service in all areas of the department and suggest/implement improvements where necessary.
  • To implement and maintain all company directed policies, procedures, and brand standards.
  • Ensure the highest standards of sanitation are maintained and that all crew are aware of USPH rules and regulations.
  • To carry out frequent training sessions with the department on Revenue trends, TGEM reports, operational observations, procedures, and new implementations.
  • To monitor the quality and presentation of all beverage items and liaise with responsible personnel.
  • Ensure weekly operational inventories are carried out accurately.
  • To ensure all equipment inventories are taken on a scheduled basis and that usage is monitored and corrective action taken whenever necessary.
  • To ensure that effective work schedules are prepared for all beverage personnel and that they are updated and reviewed on a regular basis.
  • Monitor bar and supply costs daily and adjust where necessary to ensure the costs are in accordance with established budget levels.
  • Plan all special events and functions to ensure they are successfully carried out to maximize revenues and maintain the costs.
  • To be responsible for planning, set-up and smooth execution of all special functions and events on board. e.g., cocktail parties, weddings, and co-ordination of special charters.
  • Liaise with group leaders regarding special requests, parties, etc.
  • Ensure repairs and maintenance throughout the department are up to standard. Liaise with the chief engineer and staff captain on a regular basis to discuss outstanding requests.
  • Schedule and chair regular management and crew meetings to ensure effective and open communication. Meet with the Food and Beverage Director on a regular basis for mutual exchange of information.
  • To be actively involved in the welfare and career of the crewmembers through informal or scheduled meetings, written evaluations, and counselling in coordination with the Human Resource department.
  • Ensure fair scheduling and treatment of crewmembers is carried out by all Beverage Operations management.
  • Be responsible for the department’s administration.
  • Reports directly to the Food and Beverage Director for the aspect of Safety, Environmental, and Security within the areas of assigned responsibilities.
  • The correct implementation of the Company SMS including SMS procedures involving assigned personnel.
  • Ensure that all aspects of company’s Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Policy and Procedures are effectively applied during working activities.
  • Ensure that personnel under his/her supervision follow all the guidelines regarding Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) Policy and Procedures at all times.
  • Participate, and ensure as well, the involvement and support of his / her subordinates as required by SMS Procedures SMS/COMM/P012 and SMS/OH&S/P012.
  • Responsible for ensuring members of the department comply with company environmental policies and procedures. All members f the department have received the necessary trainings related to Environment Policy and procedures.


Position Minimum Requirements:

  • Business fluency in written and spoken English
  • 5 years + Management experience in a multi outlet Bar, Nightclub, Resort or Hotel
  • Previous Cruise Live experience is advantageous
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent in Hospitality Management is a plus
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience Level

At least 5 years of experience in similar roles is required.

English Proficiency

Advanced level proficiency in English is required.

Guest Facing Experience

Customer service experience gained in a similar role is required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination.
