We are seeking a passionate and experienced Indian cook who is proficient in traditional tandoor cooking and regional Indian cuisine. The ideal candidate should have a strong understanding of classic curries, kebabs, and breads, as well as experience in both high-volume buffet production and à la carte service

 

You will be a real foodie who, has an eye for detail and enjoys being part of a large diverse and busy team where no two days are the same but there is always FUN! This is first step towards a rewarding career as part of our amazing Galley Team!     


Required Skills & Knowledge


  • Operate tandoor ovens to cook traditional breads and tandoori items like Tikka, Kebab, naan, and roti to perfection.
  • The team must possess expert knowledge of a wide range of authentic North and South Indian cuisine, including regional curries, biryanis, dals, and street food favorites.
  • Able to execute mise en place with precision, excellent knife skills, and a strong understanding of spices, marinades, and curry base preparations.
  • The team should have the ability to handle large-volume cooking for buffets while maintaining taste, consistency, and presentation, as well as experience in plated à la carte dining as required.


Position Minimum Requirements; 


  • Fluency in conversational & written English,
  • Candidates should have a positive attitude and be self self-motivated.
  • Diploma or Certification in Culinary Arts (Indian Cuisine preferred)
  • Minimum 2–5 years of experience in upscale Indian restaurants, hotels, or cruise ships
  • A sound understanding of sanitation (USPH/HACCP) and food safety best practices is essential.
  • Previous Cruise ship experience is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills (MS office) are advantageous but not essential.
  • At least 21 years old.

You should have at least 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.

Conversational English

Fluency in spoken English to connect with guests is required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination.
