Set sail on a new career with Carnival, and help us bring the FUN to life aboard one of our fantastic vessels! We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join us on board as 3rd Engine Officer!  

The Engine is the heart of our ship and our technical teams ensure the safe and smooth operation of the propulsion systems, engines, waste disposal systems, electrical and fire systems, air conditioning and mechanical equipment while ensuring Environmental compliance so our guest can enjoy the FUN facilities we have on board.  

 

As a 3rd Engine Officer at Carnival you will assist the Engine Officer on Watch (EOW) by locally monitoring and troubleshooting engine room equipment.  You will also take part in the repair and maintenance of Engine Room equipment as directed. You will learn and follow all policies and procedures and as an Engine Officer you will lead by example in your conduct on board.

  • Primarily run a safe and efficient engine room watch  
  • Ensuring maintenance is carried out as requested in an efficient and accurate manner under the supervision of Senior Leader in Engine department 
  • Ensuring compliance with Engine Room Resource Management standards of the Company 
  • Carries out preventive maintenance of engine units of the department, including necessary repair works 
  • Be able to operate Jacuzzi and swimming pool equipment which is also under his charge. 
  • Control of bunkering of the vessel 
  • Performs inventory check of spare parts and consumables  
  • Understand all the ships systems and be able to operate all the equipment effectively and efficiently in the engine room. 
  • Knows and understands the rules and regulations of ships operations with regards to SOLAS and MARPOL. 
  • Report defects and problems in the engine room to the Second and Staff Chief engineer in a timely fashion. 
  • Accurately complete the Engine room Logbook and Oil record books. 
  • Keep good and open communications with the Senior Engine officer on watch, reporting to all stakeholders and superiors 
  • Understands and complies with the company Safety and Environmental Compliance Policy (ECP) 
  • Understands the correct use of MSDS sheets 
  • Be ready to assist the other watch keeping officers in their duties, guidance and control of all subordinated Team members 
  • Perform an efficient and accurate watch handover at the end of his duty period. 
  • Diagnose faults in the engine room systems with regards to efficiency and guest satisfaction. 
  • Be aware and able to complete the correct forms and follow the correct procedures to allow hot work during his watch. 
  • Assist and guide the Oilers and greasers that are available during his watch. 
  • Performs and manages other duties as assigned. 


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience Level

You should have at least 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.

English Proficiency

Advanced level proficiency in English is required.

Guest Facing Experience

Minimum guest interaction might be required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination.
