As part of our amazing Engine Team Electricians are responsible for helping to ensure the Lights and all other electrical equipment stay on and fully functioning. Our Ships are full of fun things for our guests to do and we need to ensure that they are fully powered up and ready to go so our guests can enjoy their vacation. Assistant Electricians work alongside the Electro-Technical Officers and are a vital part of the Technical team who work hard behind the scenes to keep everything working. Joining Carnival as an Assistant Electrician is the first step towards a rewarding career on board our Fun Ships! 


 

  • To assist the Staff Electro Technical Officer with the maintenance and upkeep of the vessels electrical and electronic systems including: 
  • All electrical equipment installed in the Engineering spaces 
  • All Electrical equipment installed in the Galley and Catering outlets 
  • All electrical equipment in the hotel spaces 
  • Guest and Crew elevators and escalators where applicable 
  • Fire screen doors, watertight doors, and semi-watertight doors 
  • Guest and public spaces electrical services 
  • Ships communication system and ship to shore communication  
  • Ships Entertainment system 
  • On-Call duties as per the department rotation. 
  • Participate in all safety drills and a training 
  • Adhere to all environmental regulations and procedures 
  • Additional duties as necessary and assigned by the Staff Electro-Technical Officer.  


Minimum Requirements: What do you bring to the table? 


  • + 24 months of proven experience working in the electrical field
  • High School Diploma, Technical training in the field, preferred ETR III/7
  • Basic Training Certificates as per STCW standard
  • English language proficiency
  • Strong focus on ship's safety management
  • Ability to work well with a team


Preferred Requirements: What would we love to see? 

  • Shipboard experience in the same capacity onboard cruise ship


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience Level

You should have at least 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.

English Proficiency

Intermediate level proficiency in English is required.

Guest Facing Experience

Some level of interaction with guests will be required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination.
