Set sail on a new career with Carnival, and help us bring the FUN to life aboard one of our fantastic vessels! We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join us as Assistant Joiner & Carpenter 

 

As part of our amazing engine team, the Assistant Joiner & Carpenter is responsible for maintaining the vessel's guests and crew areas, as well as carrying out refurbishment, repairs, and daily work as instructed by the team leader.

Assistant Joiner & Carpenter responds to Guest work orders and repair requests. Responds to Crew work orders and repair requests. Ensures that all aspects of the company's environmental policy and procedure applicable to his job tasks are correctly carried out, including, but not limited to, the proper labeling of all hazardous material containers, including those which may be temporarily used, the proper storage and containment of hazardous chemicals including paints, the proper precautionary procedures specified by the company when painting onboard or "over the side," the proper application of the company's personnel protection program. Assistant Joiner & Carpenter also performs safety equipment repairs as needed.

Responsible for the upkeep of the assigned workshop and lockers (Mason, Joiner, etc.).

Being able to undertake jobs to provide help to Mason, Joiner, Upholster, and carpenter

Your Responsibilities and Tasks: What will you be doing? 


  •    Carrying out refurbishment, repairs, and new installation in Guest and Crew areas as instructed by the Team Leader.
  •     Provides night call assistance on a rotation basis as scheduled by the Team Leader
  •  Performs routine inspections of all Guest and Crew areas under his specific responsibility (i.e., doors handle, locks or hinges, malfunctions, public area loose trims decoration.)
  •     Responsible for learning the proper use of tools and equipment and P.P.E. as instructed by the Team Leader.
  •   Assist the freshwater bunkering operations. The Asst Joiner designated by the Team Leader/Facilities Maintenance Manager is responsible for this task.
  •     Ensure that all aspects of the company's OH&S are effectively applied during his/her working activities.
  •     Perform Backstage services.
  •     Carry out night beeper duties as requested by the Team Leader
  •     Ensuring that all aspects of the company's environmental policies and safety procedures are applicable to his/her job tasks,
  •    Attend all Safety drills and training as required.
  •    Any other reasonable task assigned by the Facilities Maintenance Manager or Team Leader 



Minimum Requirements: What do you bring to the table? 


  • High School Diploma,
  • Proven working experience as an Assistant Joiner for at least 12 months
  • Basic STCW Training
  • English Language proficiency
  • Ability to work well with a team
