As part of our amazing Engine Team, an Assistant Motorman is responsible for assisting to carry out maintenance to all of the engines on board.  Our Ships are full of fun things for our guests to do and visit wonderful ports without fully functioning Engines this would not be possible so the role of Assistant Motorman on-board dour vessels is vital to keep our ships sailing.

Your Responsibilities and Tasks: What will you be doing? 


  • Assists in carrying out maintenance to Main and Auxiliary Engines, Emergency Diesel Generators, Air Compressors, Life boat Engines under the Supervision of the Senior Motorman.  
  • Participate in and supports Engine Team in the carrying out of major maintenance works 
  • Participates in Water Shuttle operations as Life Boat Motorman as required.  
  • Any Additional duties as required by the Senior 1st Engineer 
  • Ensure that all aspects of the company’s Occupational Health and Safety procedures are effectively applied during all work. 
  • Attends all safety trainings and drills  
  • Adheres to all Environmental policies and procedures.  


Minimum Requirements: What do you bring to the table? 


  • Minimum 12 months experience with engine repairs and maintenance
  • High School Diploma, Technical training
  • Basic Training Certificates as per STCW standard
  • English language proficiency
  • Strong focus on ship's safety management
  • Ability to work well with a team


Preferred Requirements: What would we love to see? 

  • Shipboard experience in the same capacity onboard cruise ship
  • Certificate of Competency STCW reg: III/4 and III/5 is preferred


JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience Level

You should have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.

English Proficiency

Intermediate level proficiency in English is required.

Guest Facing Experience

Minimum guest interaction might be required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination.
