Set sail on a new career with Carnival, and help us bring the FUN to life aboard one of our fantastic vessels! We’re looking for dedicated individuals to join us as Environmental technicians. 

 

As part of our amazing Engine Team, Environmental Technicians help to maintain and repair our ships technical, and equipment in the garbage room. Environmental Technicians play a vital part in ensuring all equipment is functioning properly to ensure we can provide the best amenities and services to our guests to ensure they have a FUN and memorable vacation!   

  

Joining Carnival as an Environmental Technician is the first step towards a rewarding career onboard our Fun Ships! 


  • Ensure that all garbage room equipment and incinerators are in working order at all times  
  • Responsible that equipment and installations are operated in accordance to manufacturer instructions  
  • Ensure that maintenance is performed as required and ashes are disposed of shore in accordance with Company’s policy and procedure 
  • Maintain current records of maintenance and repairs 
  • Help with the continuous updating and developing of planned maintenance procedures through experience gained with each type of machine on board for which they are responsible.  
  • Ensure the inventory of strategic spare parts on board is sufficient to adequately maintain each machine for which they are responsible 
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of the equipment for which they are responsible 
  • Participates in all safety drills and training 
  • Any other job assigned by the 1st Engineer or Staff Chief Engineer.  


Minimum Requirements: What do you bring to the table? 


  • Minimum 12 months experience with engine repairs and maintenance
  • High School Diploma, Technical training
  • Basic Training Certificates as per STCW standard
  • English language proficiency
  • Strong focus on ship's safety management
  • Ability to work well with a team


Preferred Requirements: What would we love to see? 

  • Shipboard experience in the same capacity onboard cruise ship



JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience Level

You should have at least 1-2 years of experience in a similar role.

English Proficiency

Intermediate level proficiency in English is required.

Guest Facing Experience

Minimum guest interaction might be required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination.
