Set sail with Carnival Cruise Line and help us bring the FUN to life aboard one of our fantastic vessels as an Upholsterer.  

 

As part of our refurbishment team, you will assist with the general upkeep and maintenance of guest and crew areas, performing tasks related to carpentry, wall coverings, and soft furnishings. 

 

Your Responsibilities and Tasks: What will you be doing? 


  • Upholstery and Furniture Maintenance: This includes reupholstering and varnishing furnishings in all guest and crew areas, repairing broken furniture, and inspecting furniture and upholstery to identify and address wear and tear.
  • Fabric and Material Management: Responsibilities involve maintaining an accurate inventory of fabrics, padding, and tools, measuring materials, and communicating needs for ordering. The role also includes ordering and purchasing necessary materials and tools.
  • Assisting with Maintenance and Repairs: This position assists the Housekeeping department with emergency maintenance in staterooms during turnaround days, which can involve repairing hinges, addressing furniture scratches, and applying silicon. Other tasks include installing carpets and wallpaper, and assisting guests with repairing personal items like luggage and shoes upon request from the Guest Services Manager.
  • Operational and Safety Procedures: Key duties include organizing work to minimize disruption, participating in all safety training and drills, adhering to health and safety regulations and company policies, and being familiar with lifesaving, fire-fighting, and pollution prevention equipment. The role requires participation in emergency responses, including assisting in lowering lifeboats, wearing the prescribed uniform, and complying with port minimum safe manning requirements.
  • Inventory and Workshop Management: Maintaining a clean and organized work area and keeping records of work and materials used are essential.
  • General Duties: This includes performing other duties as assigned by a supervisor and maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.



Minimum Requirements: What do you bring to the table? 


  • + 2 years of experience ; Preferred Technical Training
  • High school diploma,
  • Applicants must be +21 years old.
  • Basic STCW training
  • English proficiency
  • Ability to work well with a team


Preferred Requirements: What would we love to see? 

  • Shipboard experience in the same capacity onboard cruise ship

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience Level

You should have at least 2-4 years of experience in a similar role.

English Proficiency

Advanced level proficiency in English is required.

Guest Facing Experience

Some level of interaction with guests will be required.

Physically Fit

You must pass a Seafarers Medical Fitness Examination.
