As part of our amazing engine team, the Assistant Joiner is responsible for maintaining the vessel's guests and crew areas, as well as carrying out refurbishment, repairs, and daily work as instructed by the team leader.
Asst Joiner responds to Guest work orders and repair requests. Responds to Crew work orders and repair requests. Ensures that all aspects of the company's environmental policy and procedure applicable to his job tasks are correctly carried out, including, but not limited to, the proper labeling of all hazardous material containers, including those which may be temporarily used, the proper storage and containment of hazardous chemicals including paints, the proper precautionary procedures specified by the company when painting onboard or "over the side," the proper application of the company's personnel protection program. Asst Joiner also performs safety equipment repairs as needed.
Responsible for the upkeep of the assigned workshop and lockers (Mason, Joiner, etc.).
Being able to undertake jobs to provide help to Mason, Joiner, Upholster, and carpenter

Your Responsibilities and Tasks: What will you be doing?
- Refurbishment, Repairs, and Installations: Carry out refurbishment, repairs, and new installations as instructed by the Team Leader in guest and crew areas. Provide assistance to other maintenance staff.
- Routine Inspections and Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections of designated guest and crew areas. Respond to work orders and repair requests, providing fast repair services as needed.
- Operational Support: Provide night call assistance and night beeper duties on a rotating basis as scheduled. Assist with freshwater bunkering operations when designated. Perform Backstage services as required.
- Safety and Environmental Compliance: Effectively apply company Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S) policies. Ensure adherence to environmental policies and safety procedures applicable to job tasks. Attend required safety drills and training. Learn proper use of tools, equipment, and Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.).
- Work Organization and Efficiency: Organize work systematically to minimize disruption. Collaborate with the Maintenance Team for inventories and material availability. Requisition necessary materials. Maintain clean and tidy working spaces and equipment. Ensure all necessary tools are available.
- Other Duties: Perform any other reasonable task assigned by management.
Minimum Requirements: What do you bring to the table?
- High School Diploma,
- Proven working experience as an Assistant Joiner
- Basic STCW Training
- English Language proficiency
- Ability to work well with a team
